Synopsis

This film traces the extraordinary journey from Venice to Paris of Giambattista Tiepolo's monumental 18th-century 30 square meters fresco, which today adorns the magnificent staircase of the Musée Jacquemart-André.

Giambattista Tiepolo was considered the greatest decorative painter of his time, and quite logically, the Italian authorities opposed the transfer. But the Jacquemart-André family was within their rights and won.

But removing such a fresco from a wall is a delicate operation.
