Synopsis

The oceans are emptying. Overfishing has led to the almost total disappearance of cod off the coast of Newfoundland and the depletion of certain types of tuna.

Faced with this problem and the growing demand, aquaculture has become increasingly important to the point where it has now overtaken wild fishing.

In Polynesia, the resource is not really threatened but initiatives are developing.
