Synopsis

Japan has more than 110 volcanoes, 60 of which are active. They are Gods, Lords, and Mount Aso alone embodies the mystical relationship that the country has with its geological monsters. With sulfur sellers, Sophie understands the pride of those who lived alongside Lord Aso, whom everyone here considers to be a real being.

But a volcano can also be a source of well-being, as in Kurokawa and its rituals that use volcanic water springs.

Sophie discovers the special relationship that the Japanese have with nature.
