Made of 83 islands and 5 active volcanos, Vanuatu Archipelago regularly suffers from earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and cyclones. On Ambryn island, which was partly devastated in 1913, a volcanologist checks on the craters while in Port-Vila, the economic and administrative capital of the country, the Warning Center analyzes the datas to anticipate the potential threats. On the other hand, the inhabitants of a small village of the Torres islands, who are isolated and were hit by a tsunami in 1997, are organizing.
