But this landscape results from an active geology and Sicily is one of the most watched territories in the world. Etna, the highest volcano in Europe is permanently in activity not far from the Stromboli which can lead to a tsunami. A volcanic rocks landslide caused a small tidal wave in 2002. Is Sicily prepared to handle these natural risks?
