Lost In the Pacific Ocean, Nauru island is deemed the smallest republic in the world. The island spread only over 21 square kilometers but its 10,000 inhabitants grew rich in the 70’s thanks to large reserves of phosphate. 20 years later it is all gone and Nauru is totally broke.
This film is a riches to rags story of a people who mismanaged its resources and is trying to get back on its feet financially by welcoming the clandestines migrants who have been turned away by Australia. But which country will be willing to open its arms to the Nauruans themselves when they will flee their devastated island?
